Objective To explore the impact of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)on the psychological and mental rehabilitation of advanced cancer patients. Methods A total of 86 middle-aged and elderly patients with advanced cancer admitted to Hunan Cancer Hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(n=43)and an observation group(n=43)by the random number table method. The control group received routine nursing, while the observation group received Acceptance and Commitment Therapy based on routine nursing. The scores of the functional assessment of chronic illness therapy-spiritual well-being(FACIT-Sp),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),quality of life, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups before and after nursing. Results Before nursing, there was no significant difference in psychological status, functional evaluation and quality of life between the two groups(P>0.05).After nursing, the scores of SAS and SDS in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the scores of FACIT-Sp and functional assessment of cancer therapy(FACT)were higher than those in control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The nursing total satisfaction of patients in observation group(93.02%)was higher than that in control group(74.42%),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention effect of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on advanced cancer patients is significant, which can effectively improve their psychological and mental state, and quality of life, with high nursing satisfaction.
