Application and research progress of multifocal electroretinogram in the diagnosis and treatment assessment of retinal vein occlusion
Retinal vein occlusion macular edema(RVO-ME)is one of the common complications of retinal vein occlusion(RVO)and an important cause of visual impairment in patients with RVO.Morphological test is often used to assess the degree of macular edema in clinical practice, but the structural changes in the macular area and changes in visual acuity in patients with RVO are not always completely synchronized. Therefore, multifocal electroretinogram(mf-ERG),as an important visual function test, has been widely used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis assessment of RVO in clinical practice in recent years, with the characteristics of non-invasive,accurate,fast,objective,and quantitative. It can present the visual functional characteristics of RVO in different states and complement traditional morphological tests, providing a more comprehensive diagnosis and treatment basis for patients with RVO.This article reviews the application of mf-ERG in RVO.
