Research progress on the role of inflammatory factors in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective The incidence rate of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)is increasing year by year, which will increase the risk of cardiovascular complications in mothers and infants and threaten the safety of mothers and infants. The pathogenesis of GDM has not been fully elucidated, and with the progress of research, the role of immune-inflammatory disorders in the pathogenesis of GDM is increasingly being valued. The pathogenesis of GDM is related to the chronic inflammatory state in the patient's body. Most inflammatory factors not only participate in insulin resistance(IR),leading to GDM,but also damage the pancreatic β cells, promoting the development of GDM.This article reviews the mechanism of action of the main pro-inflammatory factors related to the pathogenesis of GDM,including interleukin(IL)-2,IL-6,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-1 β,interferon-γ(IFN-y),C-reactive protein(CRP)and IL-17,and studies on their correlation with the pathogenesis of GDM,so as to provide a reference for the prevention and treatment of GDM.
