Research progress on the pathogenesis of diabetic dry eye
Diabetes is a disease that mainly damages microvessels.With the rapid development of society and the improvement of people's living standards,the number of diabetes patients has gradually increased.In recent years,with the improvement of people's requirements for visual quality,diabetic dry eye,as one of the complications of diabetes,has received more and more attention.The ocular surface dysfunction caused by diabetes has complex causes and diverse mechanisms,including corneal peripheral neuropathy,changes in tear composition,tear film stability and osmotic pressure,inflammatory reaction,apoptosis,sex hormones,ocular surface microorganisms,etc.This article reviews the research progress on the pathogenesis of diabetic dry eye to provide more ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic dry eye patients.
