The guiding value of expressions of serum IL-6,TNF-α and sICAM-1 in the assessment of the condition of patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy
Objective To explore expressions of serum interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)in evaluating the condition of patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy(TAO).Methods A total of 63 TAO patients admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of Longyan First Hospital from January 2022 to December 2022 were included in the study group.Additionally,63 health examination patients during the same period were selected as the control group. The indicators of IL-6,TNF-α,sICAM-1,and liver function indicators of all patients were tested and compared. Results The levels of IL-6,TNF-α,and sICAM-1 of patients in the study group were all higher than those of patients in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The TSH index in the study group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The FT3and FT4 indicators in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Serum IL-6,TNF-α,and sICAM-1 are positively correlated with FT3 and FT4(P<0.05).Conclusion The expressions of serum IL-6,TNF-α,and sICAM-1 have certain value in evaluating the condition of TAO,which is beneficial for preventing and controlling the disease.
