Effect of extracorporeal shock wave combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy on patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis
Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave combined with conventional rehabilitation treatment in patients with shoulder periarthritis. Methods A study was conducted on 80 patients with shoulder periarthritis treated at the Second Hospital of Fuzhou City from January 2020 to December 2022.They were divided into a control group(40 cases receiving conventional rehabilitation treatment)and an observation group(40 cases receiving extracorporeal shock wave combined with conventional rehabilitation treatment),and the treatment effects were compared between the two groups.Pre treatment and post treatment visual analogue scale(VAS)scores, joint range of motion, and coleman methodology score(CMS).Results The total effective rate of the control group was lower than that of the observation group, with difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS score of the observation group after treatment was lower than that of the control group, with difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The observation group had higher angles of abduction and flexion after treatment compared to the control group, with differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The CMS score of the observation group after treatment was higher than that of the control group, with difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of patients with shoulder periarthritis using extracorporeal shock wave combined with conventional rehabilitation therapy can significantly improve pain symptoms and shoulder joint function, improve quality of life and treatment effectiveness, and is worthy of promotion.
