A case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis and literature review
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis(EGE)is a rare chronic gastrointestinal disease characterized by infiltration of eosinophils in the gastrointestinal tissue. Its etiology and pathogenesis are unknown. At present,it is believed that its mechanism may be a combination of type Ⅰ hypersensitivity mediated by immunoglobulin E(IgE)and immune response mediated by type 2 helper T cells(Th2).The clinical manifestations of this disease are diverse, including abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, and even ascites, with or without elevated peripheral blood eosinophils.Due to the lack of specificity in clinical manifestations and auxiliary examinations, pathological diagnostic standards are still not standardized, and clinical diagnosis is still difficult. This article reports a case of eosinophilic gastroenteritis,in order to enhance clinical physicians'understanding of the disease.
