Study on the mechanism of action of Bailing Capsules in protecting residual renal function in patients undergoing high-flux hemodialysis
Objective To investigate the mechanism of action of Bailing Capsules in protecting residual renal function(RRF)in patients undergoing high-flux hemodialysis. Methods A total of 60 patients who underwent high-flux hemodialysis treatment at Jiangmen Xinhui People's Hospital from January 2022 to May 2023 were divided into a control group(receiving conventional treatment)and a study group(receiving conventional treatment + Bailing Capsules treatment)by a random number table, with 30 cases in each group.RRF related indicators, inflammatory factor levels, and nutrition-related status of the two groups of patients were analyzed and compared. Results After treatment, the quantitative levels of serum creatinine(Scr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),and 24-hour urine protein in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment, while the level of endogenous creatinine clearance rate(Ccr)increased compared to that before treatment. The quantitative levels of Scr,BUN,and 24-hour urine protein in the study group were lower than those in the control group, while the Ccr levels were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of hemoglobin(Hb),albumin(ALB),transferrin(TRF),and prealbumin(PA)in both groups increased compared to those before treatment, and the total subjective global assessment(SGA)score decreased compared to that before treatment. Moreover, the levels of Hb,ALB,TRF,and PA in the study group were higher than those in the control group. The total score of the SGA was lower in the study group than in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment, and the levels of hs-CRP and PCT in the study group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion When treating patients undergoing high-flux hemodialysis, the use of Bailing Capsules as an adjunct to routine treatment can significantly improve RRF related indicators and nutrition-related status, and help regulate inflammatory factor levels.
