Study on correlation between the expression level of lipid raft marker protein in peripheral blood and the whole course of major depressive disorder
Objective To explore the correlation between the expression level of lipid rafts marker protein flotillin(FLOT)1 in peripheral blood and the whole course of major depressive disorder(MDD),and whether it can predict the MDD recurrence and refractory MDD.Methods A total of 100 MDD patients admitted to Fuzhou Neuropsychiatric Hospital of Fujian Province from September 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the experimental group and 50 healthy people as the control group.The peripheral blood samples were taken from the patients in different stages of MDD(acute stage,consolidation stage and stable stage)and the control group,and the expression level of FLOT1 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells was measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR),and the correlation between the change of FLOT1 expression level and life events(mainly negative events)was analyzed.Results The relative expression of FLOT1 mRNA in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The relative expression of FLOT1 mRNA in the experimental group after treatment was lower than that before treatment,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The relative expression of FLOT1 mRNA in the acute phase of the experimental group was higher than that in the consolidation phase and the stable phase,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The score of Hamilton depression scale-17(HAMD-17)in the experimental group was higher than that in the consolidation period and the stable period,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in HAMD score between the stable period and the consolidation period(P>0.05).The relative expression of FLOT1 mRNA was positively correlated with the HAMD-17 score of the different stages of MDD patients(P<0.05),and the relative expression of FLOT1 mRNA was positively correlated with the amount of stimulus of negative events and the total stress score of life events(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression level of FLOT1 in peripheral blood is related to the whole course of MDD,which may be a biological marker of MDD.
