Research progress on frailty in patients with liver failure from the perspective of the integrated model of frailty
The integrated model of frailty proposes that frailty is a dynamic process in which the body progresses from non-frailty to frailty continuously and gradually, and its determining factors include physical, psychological, and social functions. In patients with liver failure, frailty harms their survival and quality of life. The integrated model of frailty has a guiding significance for the assessment, prevention, and intervention measures of frailty in patients with liver failure. From the perspective of the integrated model of frailty, this article reviews the overview and basic components of the integrated model of frailty, assessment tools for frailty in patients with liver failure, and symptoms of frailty in patients with liver failure. In addition,it also analyzes the current research status and puts forward suggestions, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for clinical intervention in frailty patients with liver failure.
