Meta-analysis of the therapeutic effect of moxibustion in lower urinary tract symptoms after transurethral resection of the prostate
Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of moxibustion in the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)after transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP).Methods The CNKI,Wanfang Date,VIP,CBMdisc,PubMed,the Cochrane Library, and Embase were retrieved for randomized controlled trials(RCT)on the treatment of LUTS after TURP with moxibustion, with the retrieval duration from the time of database establishment to May 31,2023.Results A total of 14 articles were included, involving 1225 patients.Meta-analysis results showed that the total effective rate, maximum urine flow rate, and IPSS of the treatment group were better than those of the control group(Z=7.55,RR=1.25,95%CI[1.18,1.32],P<0.000 01;Z=3.39,MD=3.08,95%CI[1.30,4.86],P<0.05;Z=7.04,MD=-3.47,95%CI[-4.43,-2.50],P<0.000 01),with differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).No adverse reactions were observed in both groups. Conclusion Moxibustion has a significant therapeutic effect on LUTS patients after TURP.
