Exploring the influencing factors of professional identity among pharmaceutical students
Objective To explore the level of professional identity among pharmaceutical students and its influencing factors.Methods Using the WJX app,a general data and professional identity survey was conducted on some pharmacy and clinical pharmacy students who interned in Kunming,Yuxi,Puer,and other areas of Yunnan in August 2022.Using five dimensions of professional self-awareness,professional social support,professional self-efficacy,professional value orientation,and professional self-reflection,as well as the total score of professional identity,the data was analyzed using independent sample t-test,one-way analysis of variance,multiple linear regression,and other methods.Results The total score of professional identity among pharmaceutical students was(3.86±0.60)points,which was at a medium to high level.Among them,the level of professional value orientation(4.02±0.70)points was relatively high,while the scores of professional self-efficacy(3.77±0.68)points and professional self-awareness(3.74±0.63)points were relatively low.One-way ANOVA showed that the choice of volunteer,the social status of pharmacists,the training method of the hospital pharmacy department,whether they agree that pharmacists have utilized their professional value,and whether the health care reform will enhance the professional value of pharmacy and the career planning are independent factors affecting pharmacy students'sense of professional identity.And multivariate linear regression analysis showed that the independent choice of volunteer,agreeing that pharmacists have utilized their professional value,better-than-expected attitude towards the training method of the pharmacy department,and career planning for further education are positive factors enhancing pharmacy students'sense of professional identity.attitude,and career planning for further education are positive factors that enhance pharmacy students'professional identity.Conclusion The professional identity of pharmaceutical students is at a medium to high level,but there is still room for improvement.Educators should strive to improve the teaching level,at the same time,strengthen the guidance of vocational cognition and training of vocational skills for pharmaceutical students,to improve their sense of professional identity.
