Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of five-part manipulation for pediatric patients with diarrhea of spleen deficiency type. Methods A total of 60 pediatric patients with diarrhea of spleen deficiency type admitted to Shenzhen Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine(Futian)from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected and divided into the observation group(n=30)and the control group(n=30)according to the random number table method. The observation group was treated with five-part manipulation, while the control group was treated with oral administrated bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablets. Both groups were treated for 7 days. The clinical efficacy, diarrhea symptom scores and symptom scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the scores of diarrhea symptoms in both groups of pediatric patients decreased, and the decrease in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group. The total response rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. After the intervention, the scores of diarrhea stool frequency, stool characteristics, appetite, spirit, limb burnout, eye exposure during sleep and other symptoms in the two groups of pediatric patients decreased, and the decrease in the observation group was more obvious than that in the control group, all with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the five-part manipulation in pediatric patients with diarrhea of spleen deficiency type can alleviate the symptoms of diarrhea and improve the treatment efficiency of pediatric patients, which provides a comprehensive and personalized treatment scheme for pediatric patients with diarrhea of spleen deficiency type.
