Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of using traditional Chinese medicine compound integrated with glucocorticoid mouthwash in the treatment of erosive oral lichen planus.Methods A total of 56 patients with erosive oral lichen planus were selected from the Department of Stomatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine,from January 2022 to June 2023.They were randomly divided into two groups,with 28 cases in each group.The control group was treated with glucocorticoid gargle,while the treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of it.After 30 days of treatment,the clinical efficacy,visual analogue scale(VAS)score,erosive area,white stripe area,and recurrence rate after 3 months were compared between the two groups.Results The difference of effective rate between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the treatment group was superior to that of the control group.After treatment,the VAS score and erosion area of the two groups were lower than before treatment,and the white stripe area of the treatment group was lower than before treatment.Moreover,the erosion area and white stripe area of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine is effective in treating erosive oral lichen planus.
