Application of a simple flushing negative pressure drainage device in chronic wounds with concurrent sinus tract undermining
Objective To evaluate the application effect of a simple flushing negative pressure drainage device in chronic wounds with concurrent sinus tract undermining. Methods A total of 69 patients with chronic wounds complicated with sinus tract undermining admitted to the Orthopedics Department of Leshan Shizhong District People's Hospital from February 2018 to June 2022 were selected.According to the different treatment methods received by patients,36 patients treated with a simple flushing negative pressure drainage device were included in the observation group, and 33 patients treated with conventional dressing changes were included in the control group. The frequency of dressing changes, treatment time, and changes in wound volume after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The number of dressing changes in the observation group was significantly fewer than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The treatment time in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference in wound volume between the two groups on the 14th and 21st day after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion The simple flushing negative pressure drainage device can significantly improve the healing efficiency, reduce the frequency of dressing changes, and shorten the treatment time for chronic wounds with sinus tract undermining, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
