A study on the application of different one-time root canal treatments in patients with irreversible pulpitis
Objective To explore the effects of different one-time root canal treatments on pain severity and pain relief interventions in patients with irreversible pulpitis. Methods A total of 100 patients with irreversible pulpitis admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from July 2020 to January 2023 were randomly divided into three groups using a random number table method.Among them,33 patients received thermoplasticised solid-core compaction(TSCC)filling treatment,34 patients received cold free-flow compaction(CFFC)treatment, and the other 33 patients received cold lateral compaction(CLC)treatment. The degree of pain, pain relief intervention-related indicators, postoperative filling quality, and levels of inflammatory factors among the three groups of patients were compared. Results The visual analogue scale(VAS)scores of the three groups of patients decreased at 2 and 6 hours after surgery, with lower VAS scores in the CFFC group than in the CLC group and TSCC group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Three days after surgery, the dosage and frequency of medication in the CFFC group were lower than those in the other two groups, and the onset time was shorter than the other two groups, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, there was statistically significant difference in adaptation rate among patients in the three groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the adaptation rate of the CFFC group was 91.18%,which was significantly higher than the other two groups, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After surgery, the levels of inflammatory factors in all three groups decreased(P<0.05),with the levels of interleukin-6,interleukin-1β and C-reactive protein significantly lower than the other two groups, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The pain of patients with irreversible pulpitis who were treated with TSCC or CFFC was significantly reduced with excellent postoperative filling quality.Among them, the CFFC has good effects in shortening the onset time of pain relief intervention and reducing the intake of painkillers, which can reduce the level of inflammatory factors in patients.
