Impacts of radix salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine combined with acupuncture therapy on neurological function and inflammatory factor levels in patients with acute craniocerebral injury
Objective To observe the impacts of radix salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine combined with acupuncture therapy on neurological function and inflammatory factor expression levels in patients with acute craniocerebral injury. Methods A total of 80 patients with acute craniocerebral injury hospitalized in the Department of Emergency of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected and divided into the control group(n=40)and the observation group(n=40)according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine. While on the basis of the control group, the observation group was treated with 5 ml injection of radix salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine intravenous drip once a day,and combined with acupuncture therapy. The course of treatment in both groups was 7 days. The changes of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),C-reactive protein(CRP),ability of daily living(ADL)and neurological function score(National Institute of Health stroke scale,NIHSS)in the two groups of patients were observed before and after treatment. Results Of the 80 patients,5 cases fell off during the treatment and observation, and finally 75 cases entered the group, which was divided into the control group(n=37)and the observation group(n=38).After treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the overall response rate between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the scores of NIHSS and ADL in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The expression levels of IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α and CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Injection of radix salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine combined with acupuncture therapy can effectively reduce the levels of inflammatory factors in patients with acute craniocerebral injury, alleviate the neurological deficit of patients, and improve the self-care ability of patients in daily life, with good clinical efficacy.
