Analysis on the diagnostic value of miR-3191-5p in patients with early steroid-induced avascular necrosis of femoral head
Objective To detect and investigate the expression of microRNA(miRNA)-3191-5p in peripheral blood of patients with steroid-induced avascular necrosis of femoral head(SANFH)and its diagnostic value. Methods A total of 201 patients with suspected SANFH admitted to Jianli People's Hospital from March 2017 to February 2023 were prospectively selected and divided into the confirmed group(n=99)and the undiagnosed group(n=102).In the same period, healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations were selected as the control group(n=82).The relative content of miR-3191-5p,bone mineral density(BMD)and bone gla-protein(BGP)in peripheral blood of three groups were detected and compared, respectively. The correlations between miR-3191-5p and BMD and BGP were analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of miR-3191-5p in steroid-induced femoral head. Results The relative expression level of serum miR-3191-5p in the confirmed group was lower than that in the undiagnosed group and the control group, while BMD and BGP were higher than those in the undiagnosed group and the control group. In the confirmed group, the relative expression levels of miR-3191-5p in the mild and moderate group were higher than those in the severe group, while BMD and BGP were lower than those in the severe group.Meanwhile,miR-3191-5p was obviously negatively correlated with both of BMD and BGP,respectively(P<0.05).The miR-3191-5p distinguished mild-moderate and non-mild-moderate,severe and non-severe,SANFH and non-SANFH patients, and the sums of areas under ROC were 0.764,0.916 and 0.911,respectively.Conclusion Serum miR-3191-5p can be used as a sensitive biomarker for early diagnosis of SANFH in patients.
