Impact of digital storytelling education and training on the cultivation of humanistic care for nursing students
Objective To observe the application effect of education and training methods based on digital stories in cultivating humanistic care for nursing students,and exploring effective ways to improve the humanistic quality of undergraduate nursing students in school.Methods From March to June 2022,a total of 120 undergraduate nursing students from four classes of Fenyang College,Shanxi Medical University in 2021 grade were selected as the subjects.Two classes were divided into a control group and the other two classes were divided into an experimental group using the coin toss method.The control group received traditional teaching methods,while the experimental group received digital storytelling training based on traditional teaching.Compared the scores of humanistic care between the two groups before and after intervention.Results After intervention,the scores and total scores of nursing students in the experimental group in understanding,patience,and courage were higher than those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).In addition,the scores and total scores of nursing students in the experimental group in understanding,patience,and courage were higher than before intervention,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After implementing digital storytelling training,the theoretical and operational skills scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The humanistic care training method based on digital storytelling can enhance the humanistic care ability of nursing students and further enhance their professional knowledge and skills.
