Observation on the therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of periarthritis humeroscapularis by Canggui Tanxue acupuncture method combined with trigger point massage
Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of periarthritis humeroscapularis by Canggui Tanxue acupuncture method combined with trigger point massage. Methods A total of 84 patients with periarthritis humeroscapularis admitted to the Department of Acupuncture and Massage in Hengyang Hospital Affiliated to Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from March 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the Canggui Tanxue group(n=42)and the conventional acupuncture group(n=42)according to the random number table method. In the Canggui Tanxue group,Jianyu acupoint,Jianzhen acupoint and Bi'nao acupoint were selected and treated with black-tortoise-seeking-for-hole acupuncture for 30 min.In the conventional acupuncture group, the same acupoints were selected and treated with the even reinforcing-reducing acupuncture method for 30 min. After each treatment, they were all treated with massage on trigger points for 20-30 min,and 6 days was a course of treatment. After 2 courses of treatment, the symptom score, pain, shoulder function and clinical efficacy of the two groups were observed. Results After treatment, the scores of joint swelling, joint pain, joint chills, joint heaviness and total score of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the Canggui Tanxue group was lower than that of the conventional acupuncture group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of visual analogue scale(VAS),present pain intensity(PPI),pain rating index(PRI)and total score of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the Canggui Tanxue group was lower than that of the conventional acupuncture group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of activities of daily living, joint activity, pain, muscle strength and total score of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the Canggui Tanxue group was higher than that of the conventional acupuncture group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The overall response rate of the Canggui Tanxue group was 92.86%,higher than 76.19%of the conventional acupuncture group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with periarthritis humeroscapularis, the implementation of Canggui Tanxue acupuncture method combined with trigger point massage can relieve pain, improve the range of motion, and facilitate the recovery of shoulder joint function, with obvious clinical efficacy.
