Comparison of therapeutic effect of embolization assisted by single embolic coil and stent in the treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysm
Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of simple coil embolization compared with stent-assisted coil embolization in the treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysms. Methods The clinical data of 105 patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms hospitalized in the Department of Neurosurgery of Affiliated Hospital of Panzhihua University from August 2016 to September 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. The postoperative complications of the simple embolization group and the stent-assisted embolization group were analyzed by 1:1 propensity score matching method. Results 23 patients were matched in each group, and the incidences of postoperative cerebral vasospasm and poor prognosis after discharge in the stent-assisted embolization group were 13.04%(3 cases)and 8.70%(2 cases),higher than 0 and 4.35%(1 case)in the simple embolization group, without statistically significant differences(P>0.05).The incidences of postoperative rebleeding, mortality and poor ability of daily living were the same in the two groups, which were 4.35%(1 case),4.35%(1 case)and 8.70%(2 cases),without statistically significant differences(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with the simple embolization treatment for ruptured aneurysms, the risk of cerebral vasospasm and poor prognosis after stent-assisted embolization is slightly higher, but it does not increase the risks of rebleeding, disability or mortality.
