Analysis of the current status and influencing factors of sarcopenia in maintenance hemodialysis patients
Objective To investigate the current situation of sarcopenia in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients and analyze its influencing factors. Methods Convenience sampling was used to select MHD patients who received treatment at the Blood Purification Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from October 2023 to January 2024 as the research subjects. The patients were surveyed and evaluated using a general information questionnaire,a modified quantitative subjective global assessment(MQSGA),the international physical activity questionnaire-short form(IPAQ-SF),the self-efficacy for managing chronic disease 6-item scale(SES6),and bioelectrical impedance technology. Results A total of 167 MHD patients were included,of which 75 patients(44.91%)had sarcopenia, with a high incidence rate. The results of binary logistic stepwise regression analysis showed that age, basal metabolic rate, and self-efficacy for managing chronic disease were the influencing factors for the occurrence of sarcopenia in MHD patients(all P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of sarcopenia in MHD patients is at a high level, and the current situation is quite severe.Clinical medical staff should pay attention to the early screening of sarcopenia in this population, and timely develop personalized and targeted intervention measures based on influencing factors to prevent or slow down the occurrence and development of sarcopenia, and reduce the incidence of sarcopenia.
