Research on the application of teacher-guided modified case teaching method in the teaching of postgraduate students with professional degree in pharmacy
Objective To explore the improvement effect of teacher-guided modified case teaching method on the teaching of pharmaceutical contents for postgraduate students with professional degree in pharmacy.Methods A total of 50 pharmacy graduate students in the class of 2021 at Chongqing University of Technology were selected and divided into traditional case teaching group(n=25)and modified case teaching group(n=25)according to the random number table method,and the instructors,the teacher using the same case,taught them in the spring semester of 2022 in the two small classes using the traditional case teaching method and the instructor-guided modified case teaching method,respectively.Satisfaction surveys and knowledge tests were used to compare the teaching effectiveness of the two teaching methods.Results The average score of students'knowledge test in the modified case teaching group was(86.67±9.83)points,which was higher than that of(77.92±10.40)points in the traditional case teaching group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Students'overall satisfaction with the classroom in the modified case teaching group was(4.39±0.49)points,which was higher than that in the traditional case teaching group(3.48±1.14)points,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Guidance by teachers can avoid the shortcomings caused by the unorganized implementation of the traditional case teaching method,help to promote students'learning motivation and interest,deepen their understanding and thinking about case materials,and improve their ability of case analysis and problem solving.
