Study on the effect of CBL combined with case evaluation exercise in obstetrics and gynecology teaching and its influence on students'clinical thinking ability
Objective To explore the effect of case-based learning(CBL)combined with case evaluation exercise in obstetrics and gynecology teaching and its influence on students'clinical thinking ability. Methods A total of 80 medical students who interned in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,Affiliated Hospital of Weifang Medical University from October 2022 to October 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to the numerical random table method. The control group(40 students)was given traditional teaching, while the observation group(40 students)was given CBL combined with case evaluation exercise. The academic performance,mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)results and clinical thinking of the two groups were compared. Results The results of theoretical examination and skill operation examination in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The after-department Mini-CEX score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The after-department scores of clinical thinking ability assessment scale and critical thinking disposition invention of medical students in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion CBL combined with case evaluation exercise can achieve good teaching effect in obstetrics and gynecology teaching, effectively improve the academic performance and practical ability of interns, and effectively cultivate their clinical thinking.
