Effect of Six-word Formula on patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction
Objective To explore the effect of Six-word Formula on patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 60 patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction who were hospitalized in the Department of Neurology and Department of Rehabilitation Traditional Chinese Medicine Pain,Affiliated Shuyang Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from August to December 2023 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, and the observation group received Six-word Formula training on the basis of the control group. The intervention lasted for 2 weeks. The scores, clinical efficacy, dysphagia scores, hemoglobin(HGB)and albumin(ALB)indexes,swallowing-quality of life scores and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the clinical efficacy, dysphagia score, nutritional indicators(HGB,ALB),and swallowing-quality of life score of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The observation group had significantly lower water consumption scores and incidence of related complications compared to the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Six-word Formula can effectively improve the swallowing function of patients with dysphagia after cerebral infarction, reduce the incidence of related complications and improve their quality of life.
