Teaching reform and practice of functional experiment teaching integrating clinical skills under OBE concept
Objective To explore the practical effects of functional experiment teaching reform that integrates clinical skills under the guidance of outcomes-based education(OBE)philosophy.Methods A total of 144 undergraduates from 4 classes of clinical medicine major of grade 2020 in Guangdong Medical University(Dongguan Campus)were selected as the research subjects,and randomly divided into teaching reform group and control group,with 72 students in each group.The experimental teaching method integrating clinical skills was adopted in the teaching reform group,and the traditional experimental teaching method was adopted in the control group.The functional experiment teaching was carried out in a total of three semesters from September 2021 to December 2022.The teaching effect of the two groups was compared through the self-evaluation of the course performance and teaching effect of the two groups of students.Results The daily performance,operational assessment scores,and overall evaluation scores of students in the teaching reform group were higher than those in the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The self-evaluation of students in the teaching reform group on the teaching effect of experimental teaching integrated with clinical skills was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The functional experiment teaching reform that integrates clinical skills has improved the"gender equality"of the experiment,highlighted the connotation of respecting and caring for life in curriculum ideological and political and medical humanities education,and reflected the deep integration concept of"new medical science".It is worth promoting and further deepening the reform.
