Correlation analysis between caregiver burden and psychological resilience in patients with bipolar disorder
Objective To understand the psychological resilience and care burden of family caregivers in patients with bipolar disorder, and to explore the correlation between the two. Methods A total of 198 fixed family caregivers of patients with bipolar disorder admitted to the Zhaoqing Third People's Hospital from March 2021 to December 2023 for the treatment of bipolar disorder patients were selected as the research subjects.A questionnaire survey was conducted using the General Situation Questionnaire,Zairt Caregiver Burden Scale, and Psychological Resilience Scale to investigate the current situation of care burden and psychological resilience level of family caregivers, and to analyze the correlation between their care burden and psychological resilience level. Results The total score and scores in various dimensions of caregiver burden for patients with bipolar disorder were higher than the domestic norm, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total score and scores in various dimensions of psychological resilience were lower than the domestic norm, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total burden of family care for patients was significantly negatively correlated with their level of psychological resilience(r=-0.369,P<0.01).Conclusion Family caregivers have a relatively heavy care burden and lower levels of psychological resilience, with a significant negative correlation between the two.Mental health workers should effectively promote self-emotional regulation by enhancing the psychological resilience of family caregivers of patients, which is conducive to reducing their care burden.
