Evaluation of practical teaching effect of nursing students in secondary vocational schools in nursing homes for aged care under the background of integrating medical and elderly care
Objective To evaluate the effect of practical teaching in nursing homes for aged care by nursing students in secondary vocational schools.Methods A total of 47 nursing students from the 2022 grade of Chongqing Yudong Health School were randomly selected as the observation group to carry out practical teaching in a nursing home integrating medical and elderly care.45 students in the same grade who did not engage in nursing home practice were selected as the control group.The Kogan's attitude toward older people scale(KAOP)scale between the observation group and the control group before and after practical teaching was compared,and the theoretical exam scores of the observation group and the control group after practical teaching were compared.The parallel notes of the observation group students after practical teaching were analyzed.Results After the practice of integrating medical and elderly care in nursing homes,the KAOP score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The theoretical exam scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After practical teaching,47 parallel notes were collected from the observation group.Conclusion Carrying out practical teaching of aged care integrated with medical care in nursing homes provides a real learning environment for nursing students,which is conducive to the positive transformation of nursing students'cognitive attitudes towards the elderly and helps to improve the teaching effectiveness of aged care for vocational school nursing students.
