Clinical study on the curative effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency type based on randomized controlled trial
Objective To explore the clinical effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion on knee osteoarthritis with liver and kidney deficiency type. Methods A total of 60 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee with deficiency of liver and kidney who attended the Department of Rehabilitation of Maanshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected, and were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to the method of randomized number table, with 30 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with warm acupuncture and moxibustion, and the control group was orally administered celecoxib capsules. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The visual analogue scale(VAS),Western Ontario and McMaster Universities arthritis index(WOMAC),Lysholm knee(Lysholm)joint score and clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients were recorded respectively. Results The total effective rate of the test group was 90.00%,which was higher than the 80.00%of the control group, with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The VAS,WOMAC and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the test group were lower than those of the control group at one course and two courses of treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The Lysholm knee joint score of the test group was higher than that of the control group at two courses of treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture and moxibustion is used to treat patients with knee osteoarthritis of liver and kidney deficiency type, which can effectively improve the quality of life of patients, improve knee joint function and pain and other clinical symptoms of patients, and has good safety.
