Exploration and practice of refined management in the prevention and control of surgical site infections in colorectal cancer patients
Objective To explore the application value and practical effect of using refined management strategies in the prevention and control of surgical site infections(SSI)in colorectal cancer patients. Methods Infection Prevention and Control Department took the lead in implementing the practice of prevention and control of SSI for colorectal cancer patients in the Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital. From July 2020 to June 2023,after the implementation of hospital infection refined management in the hospital, the implementation effect of refined management was evaluated by comparing the occurrence of SSI in colorectal cancer patients in this hospital. Results From July 2020 to June 2023,the incidence of SSI in patients with colorectal cancer who underwent surgical treatment was 1.68%,and it showed a decreasing trend year by year, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).According to the classification of colon cancer radical surgery, rectal cancer radical surgery, and other intestinal surgeries, the incidence of SSI in colon cancer radical surgery decreased year by year, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The occurrence of anastomotic leakage was the main cause of SSI infection(71.74%).Among the pathogenic bacteria detected by SSI,the detection rate of Escherichia coli was the highest(62.16%).Conclusion By using refined management methods, integrating clinical and sensory control disciplines, and implementing multiple measures to create better perioperative conditions for patients, the incidence of SSI in colorectal cancer patients can be further reduced, medical quality can be improved, medical safety can be guaranteed, and high-quality development of public hospitals can be assisted.
