Effect of paroxetine combined with olanzapine in the treatment of stable schizophrenia with anxiety
Objective Study on the efficacy of paroxetine combined with olanzapine in the treatment of stable schizophrenia (SCH) with anxiety. Methods A total of 70 patients with schizophrenia in stable stage with anxiety admitted to Dongguan Seventh People's Hospital from October 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into two groups using a random number table method, with 35 patients in each group. The control group (35 cases) was treated with multivitamin combined with olanzapine, and the observation group (35 cases) was treated with paroxetine combined with olanzapine. Both groups received continuous treatment for 12 weeks. Compare the clinical efficacy, positive and negative symptoms (PANSS),self rating anxiety scale (SAS),shame, the feelings of inadequacy scale (FIS),and incidence of adverse reactions between two groups. Results The total clinical effective rate of the observation group (94.29%) was higher than that of the control group (74.29%). After treatment, the scores of PANSS dimensions,SAS,psychiatric shame assessment scale, and FIS scale were all lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Paroxetine combined with olanzapine has a significant therapeutic effect on stable SCH with anxiety, effectively improving its positive and negative symptoms, alleviating anxiety, improving shame and deficiency, and does not increase the occurrence of adverse reactions. It has good application safety.
