Serological and ultrasound indicators and their correlation with blood pressure in patients with preeclampsia in early and middle stage of pregnancy
Objective To investigate serological and ultrasound indicators and their correlation with blood pressure in patients with preeclampsia (PE) in early and middle stage of pregnancy. Methods A total of 542 patients with PE admitted to Shunde New Rongqi Hospital of Foshan City in Guangdong Province (our hospital) from September 2018 to July 2022 were selected as the study group. 458 healthy pregnant women who came to our hospital for routine obstetric examination during the same period were selected as the control group. Vitamin A,vitamin E,platelet (PLT),resistance index of uterine artery (RI),and pulsatility index (PI) (named RI1 and PI1 on the left side, and RI2 and PI2 on the right side) were collected from the two groups in the early and (10 to 13 weeks of gestation) and middle (14 to 27 weeks of gestation) stage of pregnancy. Results Levels of vitamin E,RI1,PI1,RI2 and PI2 in early and middle stage of pregnancy were higher in the study group than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). PLT level in early and middle stage of pregnancy was lower in the study group than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Levels of vitamin E,RI1,PI1,RI2 and PI2 were higher in the middle stage of pregnancy than those in the early stage of pregnancy in the study group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). PLT level was lower in the middle stage of pregnancy than that in the early stage of pregnancy in the study group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). In early and middle stage of pregnancy, there was a positive correlation between levels of vitamin E,RI1,PI1,RI2,and PI2 and the blood pressure level, with a negative correlation between PLT level and the blood pressure level in the study group (P<0.05). Conclusion The levels of vitamin E,PLT,RI and PI can effectively predict the occurrence of PE. The levels of vitamin E,RI and PI are positively correlated with the blood pressure of PE patients, while the levels of PLT are negatively correlated with the blood pressure of PE patients.
