Application of mindfulness intervention combined with spiritual care in patients with end-stage cancer
Objective To analyze the application of mindfulness intervention combined with spiritual care in patients with end-stage cancer. Methods A total of 40 patients with end-stage tumors admitted to Xiamen Haicang Hospital of April 2021 to April 2023 were divided into two groups by random number table method, with 20 cases each group. The control group received routine treatment and nursing guidance, while the study group received mindfulness intervention combined with spiritual care on the basis of routine treatment and nursing. The negative emotions,self-care abilities, and coping styles of two groups before and after intervention were compared, and the satisfaction was evaluated. Results After intervention, the study group had lower scores in negative emotions and coping styles towards the disease compared to the control group, and higher scores in self-care ability and positive coping styles towards the disease compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The overall satisfaction rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In patients with end-stage cancer, the combination of mindfulness intervention and spiritual care can significantly reduce negative emotions, improve self-care ability, transform the negative coping styles towards the disease into positive ones, and significantly increase satisfaction.
