Research progress of bioactive glass promoting odontoblast differentiation
Bioactive glass(BG)is widely used in the fields of bone regeneration and periodontal tissue regeneration due to its osteogenic and angiogenic effects. In recent years,it has been found that BG can promote the development of human dental pulp stem cells(hDPSCs)or other related cells towards the formation of dentin, and can also promote the formation of dental pulp-dentin complexes. This is of great significance for the treatment of diseases such as pulp disease and periapical lesions.BG dissolution releases specific ions such as calcium and silicon, thereby promoting the regeneration of dental hard tissue.BG dissolves and forms an alkaline microenvironment through ion exchange, thereby exerting antibacterial effects.BG enhances intercellular communication by promoting intercellular communication. These factors have positive significance in promoting the differentiation of odontogenic cells into dentin. This paper reviews and explores the role and mechanism of BG in promoting the differentiation of odontogenic cells into dentin,in order to provide a research basis for the treatment of pulp and periapical diseases.
