Research progress of pathogenic factors of cytokines, bone mineral density and bone markers in osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis(OA)is a chronic degenerative disease of joints, involving articular cartilage and its surrounding tissues. Its main clinical manifestations are joint swelling and pain, stiffness and limited activity. It usually progresses slowly, but it can eventually lead to joint dysfunction with disability, which seriously impacts the quality of life of patients. At present, the treatment method for OA is mainly to relieve pain, which can not completely prevent the damage of joint tissue or the progress of OA.Gender, age, body mass index, cytokines, bone mineral density and bone markers are all involved in the pathogenesis of OA,and many pathogenic factors interact with each other to jointly lead to the development of the disease. In recent years, the investigation of etiology and pathogenesis has become the main direction of studying OA.Therefore, this article will review the research progress of cytokines, bone mineral density and bone markers in the pathogenesis of OA,hoping to provide new ideas for the early diagnosis and treatment of OA.
