Application of bedside tracheal intubation teaching method in standardized training of residents
Objective To investigate the teaching effect of bedside teaching method in the training course of tracheal intubation for residents. Methods Undergraduate students admitted to the Department of Anesthesia and Pain in the General Hospital of Western Theater Command PLA from September 2020 to June 2022 were selected as the experimental group(n=52),and the theoretical knowledge and skill operation of tracheal intubation were taught by bedside teaching method. After the course, students'participation was investigated, and the students'mastery of theoretical knowledge and familiarity with skill operation were evaluated by unified grading rules, and the corresponding results were compared with those of the control group(n=55)of Grade 2019 who adopted conventional teaching methods.Simultaneously, the teaching effect questionnaire was used to evaluate the bedside teaching effect. Results The active speaking rate and the active questioning rate of the students of Grade 2020 were 96.15%and 67.31%,respectively.Grade 2020 students'academic performance and skill operation performance were obviously superior to those of grade 2019 students(P<0.05).Moreover,86.54%of students thought that the teaching method was novel and practical,94.23%of students thought that the teaching method deepened their understanding and memory of specialized knowledge, and 96.15%of students thought that this teaching mode should be continued. Conclusion Bedside teaching method can improve the trainees'understanding and mastery of tracheal intubation, and can effectively improve the teaching quality and effect, which is worthy of promotion and application in standardized training and teaching of Department of Intersive Care Medicine.
