Analysis on the effectiveness of applying problem-based teaching combined with micro lecture in orthopedic clinical teaching
Objective To explore the effectiveness of applying problem-based teaching combined with micro lecture in orthopedic clinical teaching. Methods Retrospectively selected 50 students who had clinical internship in the Department of Orthopaedics of the Affiliated Hospital of Weifang Medical University(our hospital)from January to December 2021 as the control group, and were taught by traditional teaching method.50 students who had clinical internship in the Department of Orthopaedics of our hospital from January to December 2022 were selected as the experimental group, and were taught by problem-based teaching combined with micro lecture method was used for teaching. The test scores, students'evaluation of teaching effect and job competence of the two groups were compared. Results The scores of theoretical knowledge(multiple choice questions and case analysis questions)and practical skills(medical history collection, physical examination and film reading)in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The improvement rates of study interest,self-study ability, clinical knowledge,problem-solving ability, critical thinking ability and teamwork spirit in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The scores of knowledge, skills, attitude and behavior and development ability in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of problem-based teaching combined with micro lecture in orthopedic clinical teaching can significantly improve students'examination performance and work competence, and improve their evaluation of teaching effectiveness.
