Study on the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine syndrome types of chronic prostatitis and prostatic fluid examination parameters
Objective To investigate the correlation between prostate fluid examination parameters of lecithin body count(SPL)and white blood cell count(WBC)and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome patterns of chronic prostatitis(CP)(damp-heat pouring downward syndrome, syndrome of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency,qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome, and kidney-yang deficiency syndrome),in order to provide an objective basis for the more appropriate application of results of the prostate fluid examination in guiding the clinical use of medication. Methods A total of 115 patients with CP admitted to the Male Division Outpatient Service and the Inpatient Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Qujing Maternal and Child Health-care Hospital of Yunnan Province(Liaokuo Branch)from January 31 to December 31,2023 were selected for the study. Each patient was examined for prostatic fluid. The SPL and WBC of prostatic fluid examination of each group were summarized and classified. Each patient was divided into one of the following four groups according to the standard of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation:damp-heat pouring downward syndrome, syndrome of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency,qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome, and kidney-yang deficiency syndrome, and the obtained data were statistically analyzed. Results 1 15 patients with CP were divided into normal and abnormal prostatic fluid examination groups, and the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome patterns in both groups was damp-heat pouring downward syndrome>qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome>syndrome of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency>kidney-yang deficiency syndrome, with no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome patterns(P>0.05).Among them, patients with abnormal WBC were predominant in the damp-heat pouring downward syndrome group.Patients with abnormal SPL and WBC were predominant in the qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome group.Patients with abnormal SPL were predominant in both the syndrome of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency group and the kidney-yang deficiency syndrome group. The difference in the distribution of prostate fluid examination parameters among the four syndrome patterns was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a certain correlation between the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome patterns of CP and prostate fluid examination parameters. The damp-heat pouring downward syndrome is related to leukocytosis. The qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome is related to abnormal SPL and WBC.The syndrome of exuberant fire due to yin deficiency and the kidney-yang deficiency syndrome are related to the decrease of lecithin body. The study and analysis of this paper can better guide the classification of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome patterns and the treatment of clinical medication in patients with CP.
