Summary of academic experience of Shen Maorong,a master of Chinese medicine in Gui School,in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a serious chronic metabolic bone disease, which is an age-related skeletal muscle disease mainly characterized by decreased bone mass, weakened bone strength, bone microstructure damage, and bone fragility. It is classified as"gu bi"or"gu wei"in Chinese medicine.Professor Shen Maorong,a master of the Gui school, believes that kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency, and blood stasis are the main pathogenesis of the disease. In more than 37 years of clinical practice,he has formed a clinical thinking of"referring to the West while insisting on Chinese medicine""preventing disease before it occurs",and"balancing muscles and bones, combining movement and stillness".In clinical practice,a comprehensive prevention and treatment plan that combines decoction and ointment, internal and external treatment, emphasizes spleen and stomach, dietary regulation, and emphasizes both prevention and treatment, with practice as the foundation. This paper explores and summarizes Professor Shen's clinical and academic experience in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, with the aim of providing better clinical services.
