Effect of Drought Stress on Physiological Properties of Sassafras tsumu Seedlings
This paper discussed the dynamic changes of 1-year Sassafras tsumu seedlings on physiological and biochemical properties under persistent drought stress. The results indicated as follows:with the extension of drought process and the loss of the soil water content, the leaf relative water content decreased tardily in pre-drought stress while decreased significantly in post-period;the MDA content varied complicatedly, the changes of the soluble protein content showed“first rose and decreased afterwards”;changes of the chlorophyll a content, the ratio of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b and the total chlorophyll content in the leaves showed“first rised and decreased afterwards”;Fo sustained increased;Fm, Fv/Fm, Fv/Fo, qP, qN were relatively stable. The results showed that Sassafras tsumu seedlings have a weak drought tolerance, it makes them unadjustable to be planted in the area with severe drought.
