Oil contents and fatty acids compositions of seed oils from three Michelia species plants
The oil contents of three species of Michelia plants seeds ( Michelia cavaleriei, Michelia sphaer-antha, Michelia chapensis) were determined, and their fatty acids compositions were analyzed by GC. The results indicated that the oil contents of three species of Michelia plants seeds were ranging from 39% to 44% , and Michelia chapensis had the highest oil content, reaching 44%. The major fatty acids of the seed oils from three species of Michelia plants were palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid, and the contents of oleic acid and linoleic acid were relatively higher with oleic acid contents 22. 05% -33.73% , linoleic acid contents 36. 18% -50.43%. The total unsaturated fatty acids contents were in the range of 70. 74% -74.20%. Through comprehensive analysis, the three Michelia species plants could be noval oil plants resource.
