Synthesis of biodiesel from castor oil catalyzed by dual-core acidic ionic liquid [DABCO-PS][HSO4]
Dual-core acidic ionic liquid [DABCO-PS] [HSO4] was synthesized, and it was used to catalyze castor oil to prepare biodiesel through transesterification. The optimal synthesis conditions of ionic liquid precursor [DABCO-PS] were obtained as follows:molar ratio of 1,3-propane sultone to triethylene diamine 2∶ 1,reaction temperature 60 ℃ and reaction time 3 h.Under these conditions, the yield of [DABCO-PS] reached 93.4%.The [DABCO-PS] [HSO4] was characterized by FTIR,NMR and MS to be confirmed as the target ionic liquid. The optimal synthesis conditions of biodiesel from castor oil catalyzed by [DABCO-PS] [HSO4] were obtained as follows:molar ratio of methanol to castor oil 12∶1,dosage of ionic liquid 4% (based on the mass of castor oil),reaction temperature 50 ℃ and reaction time 1 h.Under these conditions, the yield of biodiesel reached 90%.The main components of the biodiesel were determined by gas chromatography as methyl palmitate, methyl linoleate, methyl oleate, methyl linolenate, methyl stearate and methyl ricinoleate, and fatty acid methyl ester accouted for above 90% of the biodiesel.
