Effect of nursing intervention model based on Snyder's hope theory on mood, psychological resilience, coping style and self-efficacy of patients with bone tumors
Objective This study aimed to examine the effect of the nursing intervention model based on Snyder's Hope Theory in patients with bone tumors. Methods A total of 126 patients with malignant bone tumors were admitted to the Orthopedics Department of Anhui Provincial Cancer Hospital from June 2020 to June 2022,including 74 males and 52 females.Age of the patients ranged from 41 to 76 years, with a mean age of(55.9±6.9)years.The block randomization method was used and patients were divided into a control group adopting routine care and an experimental group receiving the nursing intervention model based on Snyder's Hope Theory, with 63 patients in each group. The mood, psychological resilience, coping style and self-efficacy scores between the two groups were compared. Results The HAMA and HAMD scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group after intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(HAMA:12.59±2.54 vs 17.16±2.63,P<0.05.HAMD:14.14±3.67 vs 18.52±4.75,P<0.05).The experimental group had significantly higher scores in optimism, confidence, resilience, and overall score than the control group, with statistical significance(optimism:10.74±2.11 vs 5.83±1.25.confidence:23.57±6.61 vs 13.38±4.26.resilience:38.12±6.95 vs 25.73±4.08.overall score:73.56±14.52 vs 44.34±9.38,all P<0.05);The confrontation scale scores of patients in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(26.14±2.12 vs 18.56±1.46,P=0.002),while the avoidance and resignation scale scores were significantly lower than those of the control group(avoidance:13.14±1.42 vs 16.15±2.23.yield:10.09±2.25 vs 11.69±2.28),with statistical significance(P<0.05).The GSES score of the experimental group patients was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(20.95±4.20 vs 16.77±3.11,P<0.001).Conclusion The nursing intervention model based on Snyder's Hope Theory can effectively improve the negative emotions, enhance psychological resilience and self-efficacy of patients with bone tumors, and improve their coping strategies.
