The impact of Internet+continuous nursing services on the rehabilitation process of patients with lymphedema after breast cancer surgery
Objective To investigate the impact of Internet+continuity care services on the rehabilitation process of breast cancer patients with postoperative upper limb lymphedema. Methods A total of 160 breast cancer patients with postoperative upper limb lymphedema, treated between January 2022 and December 2022,were selected as subjects. They were divided into a control group and a study group based on different nursing approaches, with 80 patients in each group. The control group received routine care, while the study group received Internet Plus continuity care services. The improvement in edema and quality of life scores were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing intervention, the difference in upper limb circumference between the two arms in the study group was(5.74±1.70)mm,which was significantly smaller than that of the control group[(10.33±2.47)mm,P<0.001].The shoulder flexion degree, wall climbing height, and shoulder abduction degree in the study group were(99.88±9.47)º,(36.49±4.11)cm,and(93.48±8.58)º,respectively,all of which were significantly better than those in the control group[(77.44±8.52)º,(27.49±4.16)cm,and(75.49±8.49)º;all P<0.001].Additionally,the quality of life scores(emotional role, social functioning, mental health, bodily pain, general health, physical role, physical functioning, and vitality)in the study group were all higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusions Upper limb lymphedema is a common complication following total mastectomy for breast cancer and has a significant impact on patients'quality of life. The implementation of internet+continuity care services not only improves patient symptoms and promotes the rehabilitation process but also contributes to enhancing the overall quality of life for patients.
