The application of the medical consortium model combined with the"Peace of Mind Card"guided dignity care intervention in palliative care for malignant tumor patients
Objective To explore the effectiveness of the medical consortium model combined with the"Peace of Mind Card"guided dignity care intervention in palliative care for cancer patients. Methods A total of 80 malignant tumor patients who were hospitalized at Suzhou Ninth People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were enrolled in this study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method. The control group(n=40)received conventional nursing care, while the study group(n=40)received dignity care intervention guided by the medical consortium model combined with the"Peace of Mind Card."The two groups were compared in terms of dignity level, anxiety, depression scores, sleep quality scores, pain scores, and quality of life scores. Results Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of PDI,SAS,SDS,NRS,and PSQI scores(P>0.05).After the intervention, the study group had significantly lower scores in the following PDI dimensions compared to the control group:symptom distress(7.68±2.16 vs.14.35±3.56),psychological status(28.48±1.48 vs.33.16±2.03),independence(11.27±1.69 vs.17.68±2.78),spiritual well-being(1.78±1.15 vs.4.38±2.35),and social support(9.27±1.67 vs.13.49±2.47)(P<0.05 for all).Additionally, the study group had lower SAS,SDS,NRS,and PSQI scores:(SAS:36.18±5.18 vs.45.16±4.35),(SDS:35.67±4.49 vs.42.08±5.37),(NRS:3.45±1.07 vs.5.74±1.36),(PSQI:14.19±1.37 vs.18.45±2.16)(all P<0.05).Conclusions The application of the medical consortium model combined with the"Peace of Mind Card"guided dignity care intervention improves the psychological well-being of malignant tumor patients in palliative care.It reduces anxiety, depression, and pain, enhances sleep quality, and improves dignity levels.
