Effects of Different Types and Concentrations of Disinfectants under LED Red and Blue Light on the Growth and Yield of Hydroponic Barley Seedlings
To explore the optimal disinfection method for barley seeds,this study investigated the effects of different types and concentrations of disinfection reagents on the growth and yield of hydroponic barley seedlings.The results showed that the disinfection effect of 1%concentration and 2% sodium hypochlorite was higher than that of 0.5%concentration and 1%potassium permanganate,and there was no significant difference in the disinfection effect of different concentrations of sodium hypochlorite.In addition,the experiment also found that the fresh weight of barley seedlings disinfected with higher concentrations of sodium hypochlorite and potassium permanganate was higher than that treated with lower concentrations.Laying non-woven cloth at the bottom of the culture dish can promote a 30%increase in the fresh weight of the aboveground part of hydroponic barley seedlings.Overall,after disinfecting barley seeds with 2%sodium hypochlorite for 20 minutes and using a non-woven cloth to pad the bottom,hydroponic barley seedlings grew best and had the lowest level of contamination.
