Research on Color Discrimination Evaluation of High Color Rendering LED Light Environment Based on Munsell Color Chess
The spectral distribution of illumination light source has an important influence on the color discrimination ability of human eyes.Even under the same illumination and color temperature conditions, the color discrimination ability of human eyes is not the same if the spectral distribution is different. There have been many studies on the influence of the color temperature and illuminance of the light source on the color discrimination ability of the human eye. However, the influence of the metamerism environment formed by LED light source on the color discrimination ability of human eyes has not been systematically studied. In this paper, based on the FM-100 color chess visual evaluation system, the visual evaluation of the same color and different spectrum lighting environment is carried out in the LED lighting environment with the same color temperature, illumination and color rendering index. The results show that the traditional color rendering index (CRI)can not fully reflect the color rendering of the light source. In the region with a high special color rendering index Ri (blue green area),the experiment did not show the best color discrimination test results. The spectrum of the two light environments is missing in the blue-green region (i.e.460 nm-520 nm),resulting in poor color discrimination test results in this wavelength range. The scientific modulation of LED white light spectrum should not only pay attention to the indexes such as light efficiency, color temperature and color rendering index, but also to the energy balance of each color segment to achieve the best color discrimination effect.
