Cause-of-death analysis among residents with malignant tumors in Ganzhou district,Zhangye city,2004-2009
Objective To investigate the death causes of residents with malignant tumors,and to provide scientific basis for prevention and control of malignant tumors.Methods The death causes were classified according to ICD-10,and the data were analyzed by Excel software.Results The crude mortality rate and the standard mortality rate of malignant tumors were 122.76/100 000 and 120.86/100 000 respectively,ranking the third in all causes of death.The mortality rate of malignant tumors was higher for males than that for females,and was higher in rural areas than that in cities.The leading five death causes of malignant tumors were gastric cancer,esophageal cancer,liver cancer,lung cancer and colorectal cancer.The mortality increased with aging.Middle-aged and the elderly people were the main victims of malignant tumors.Conclusion Malignant tumors have been the main death causes for residents in Ganzhou district.Comprehensive intervention measures should be conducted to prevent the occurrence of malignant tumors.
