Objective In order to analyze the correlation between blood and tissue eosinophil, tissue eosinophil chemokine CCL11 and disease severity in patients with bullous pemphigoid(BP).Methods Sixty-five cases of BP patients hospitalized in the dermatology department of Tianjin academy of traditional Chinese medicine affiliated hospital from January 2019 to January 2021,and 24 healthy people with medical cosmetic needs diagnosed and treated in our hospital at the same time as the control group.Spearman correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between blood and tissue eosinophils, tissue eosinophil chemokine CCL11 and BP disease area index(BPDAI)in patients with BP.Results Blood and tissue eosinophils and tissue eosinophil chemokine CCL11 were positively correlated with BPDAI score in patients with BP(P<0.05).Blood and tissue eosinophils and tissue eosinophil chemokine CCL11 were correlated with erythema score and blister score, but not with lesion score and mucosal score(P<0.05).There was a significant correlation between blood eosinophils and pruritus score in patients with BP(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a correlation between eosinophil and tissue eosinophil chemokine CCL11 and BPDAI score in patients with BP,which can reflect the severity of BP to some extent, and it can be inferred that they play a certain role in the mechanism of erythema and blister formation of BP.In addition, the increase of blood eosinophils may be related to the formation mechanism of skin pruritus.
