Objective In order to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Pifubing Xuedu pill in treating acne vulgaris with syndrome of damp-heat and poisoning.Methods Totally 120 patients with moderate acne vulgaris were treated with Pifubing Xuedu pill for four weeks,and followed up for four weeks after treatment.The changes of skin lesions and quality of life were compared before and after treatment,and adverse events were observed.Results The global acne grading system(GAGS),dermatology life questionnaire index(DLQI),investigator global assessment(IGA),Cardiff acne disability index(CADI)and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores of patients were significantly lower than those of baseline(P＜0.001).After four weeks of treatment,the above scores were continued to decrease in the fourth week of follow-up after the end of treatment,and they were statistically lower compared with the baseline(P＜0.00l).No adverse reactions occurred during the study.Conclusion Pifubing Xuedu pill is effective and safe in treating acne vulgaris with syndrome of damp-heat and poisoning.
